Type: Full-bodied red wine.
Piattelli Vineyards is located in the town of Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, a few miles outside the town of Cafayaté and is located at 5,522 feet above sea level. The landscape is much more desert-like, and is known for its proximity to the wonderous rock formations in the Calchaquí Valley.
Harvest: Grapes are hand-picked and manually sorted.
Vinification: Grapes go cold maceration for 3 days. Fermentation takes place in 5,000 to 10,000-liter stainless steel tanks.
Ageing: For 8 months in oak barrels.
Color: Deep burgundy hues
Nose: Aromas of ripe plum and berries.
Palate: Well balanced and strong finish. Plum, black licorice and freshly snapped juniper branches in the midrange; rhubarb, ripe blackberry and soft tannins fill out the finish.
Food pairing: Beef, lamb, poultry.
