This organically grown premium red wine is the product of Estate Harvested Sangiovese and Syrah grapes from Poggio al Casone Vineyard. After hand-picking, the grapes are sorted and crushed. No oak is used. Enjoy this with your favorite meal or alone as it delivers as a wine that takes no shortcuts. Bottled and labeled with bio-safe materials. Featuring the new Helix™ re-usable cork seal.
Vineyard: Poggio al Casone (79 acres)
Soil: Sandy, calcareous, rich in river pebbles
Training: Cordon Spur with southwest exposure
Yield: 2,500 vines per acre. 1-2 bottles per plant.
Vinification: Fermentation at low temperatures over 20 days before gentle pressing. No barrel aging.
Color: Deep red
Nose: Earthy nose with a little sweet floral resting on the back. Notes of dried cranberry, chocolate dipped cherry and a bit of anise.
Palate: Black cherry and blackberry flavors meet up with muscular tannins. The long, juicy aftertaste echoes fruit, spice and earth notes.
Food pairing: Roasted or grilled meats, pizza or with rmer cheeses.
